VoIP Services

Voice over Internet Protocol (also known as Voice over IP, VoIP and IP telephony) is a communication service which allows virtual transportation of voice and multimedia messages over the internet. Instead of using a public switched telephone network (PSTA), this technology employs an internet protocol (IP) network.

The process stages of carrying out a VoIP communication path is more or less similar to that of a traditional digital telephonic system i.e. analog voice signaling, digital encoding of voice message, channelizing, analog decoding and reception. The major difference lies in the fact that this digitally encoded information is transmitted through internet protocol packets. These packets deliver voice streams over a switched network and use of special audio and video codecs.

Today, many household gadgets (which include personal computers, smartphones, etc.) use VoIP for calling and messaging.
