PBX
A private telephone network used within a business, company or organization is called PBX. It is an acronym for Private Branch Exchange. A number of outside lines are used and shared by PBX phone system users for external outgoing or incoming calls.
Internal telephones in a PBX network are not only connected with each other within a business, but also gives a provision for a connection with outside networks like public switched telephone network (PSTN), Voice over Internet Protocol (VoIP) and SIP Trunks.
The latest trend in PBX phone system is the development of VoIP PBX. This is used to transmit calls using an internet protocol. Currently, there are four different PBX systems which include:

- Hosted/Virtual PBX
- IP PBX
- Hosted/ Virtual IP PBX
